"Media That Makes You See, Think, and Feel"
The Wandering Eye is all about showcasing art, uncovering truths, telling people's stories, and making you feel something. We are primarily based in Savannah, Georgia and Stafford, Virginia, but we're here to tell the stories of people everywhere as we wander this earth. We plan to shares these stories any way we can, whether it's through their words, art, or photographs showing bits of their life. Our goal is to record the parts of life that may or may not make it into history books but are worth remembering anyways. We hope we can make you see the world around you, think about this life and all it entails, and feel something that truly moves you.
Our Story
Founded in 2026, The Wandering Eye was made by two young adults with a passion for storytelling. Co-founders Madi Martin and Anthony Smith met in their high school journalism class where they both acted as co-editor-in-chief's. During their second year in this class they fell in love, not just with journalism, but with each other as well.
Fast forward three years later and the duo is still together, although they're currently separated by 480 miles. Madi is attending the Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah, Georgia to obtain a B.F.A in graphic design. While Anthony Smith is back home in Stafford, Virginia pursuing a career in the Yachting Industry. Both working at local restaurants waiting tables to make ends meet.
During March of 2026 Anthony approached the topic of wanting to return to journalism, especially the world of investigative journalism. Meanwhile, living in Savannah Madi had met many new people whose stories she'd love to tell, as well as artist she wishes to spotlight. Additionally, Madi had been dreaming of having her own publication ever since graduating high school. So together they worked to create The Wandering Eye as a place for them to return to their passion.
The name The Wandering Eye was inspired by our shared love of travel and innate want to learn about new places, and the people occupying them. We've always loved to hear other people we've met's stories, and this is our place to now share those stories with you, the reader.
